Hi, I’m Derrick Hoard, and I’m passionate about helping partners of individuals with ADHD create lasting change. As a therapist, I've spent years working with clients who struggled with the challenges ADHD brings to relationships. One common theme emerged: the non-ADHD partner often felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and burned out from carrying the emotional and practical load.
They needed more than traditional therapy—they needed practical, consistent support.

These women had been trying everything they knew how to communicate with their partners and often went into couples therapy with the best intentions, but I found that all of the theories when followed to the letter, often left men feeling shamed and blamed. Resulting in them shutting down and not participating.

That’s where I discovered the potential of working directly with the women in these relationships. Partly because at one point in my marriage, I went through the exact same thing. The problem is that men are not socialized to be able to understand their emotions. They often shut down when presented with the emotions of their partners, not because they don't care but because they don't understand.

And it is not "manly" for a man to admit he doesn't know something. So often, women are communicating the right things but just not in a way that the male brain can process the information. ​

So my job is to offer you unique insight into the male brain and how it processes information. As someone who considers himself emotionally intelligent (becuase my male friends often complain of me being too sensitive) I can act as a translator for your husbands ADHD influenced emotions.

I’ve seen too many people get stuck in long-term programs that provide little more than surface-level advice. My goal is to empower you with the tools and skills to manage the challenges of being in a relationship with someone who has ADHD. Once you learn how to communicate with both AI and yourself, you’ll break free from the cycle of frustration and find real, lasting progress.
